The electronic Medication Preparation Station (MPS) is a support and control instrument as well as a source of information for the nurses when handling medication. MPS is optimal for integration into already existing procedures of the treatment process and allows for an improvement in medication safety even when personnel resources are scarce.
How does MPS work?
Scan patient’s MediDispenser or case-ID (The patient’s medication is displayed)
Scan medication (Check for correctness)
Displays in which compartment it should be directed
A warning is given in the case of a medication being put into the wrong compartment
