Family-oriented and competent
Under the motto “family-oriented and competent”, the Hungacher retirement home has been managed for many years and offers 42 residents a modern and familiar living environment. The retirement center is not only a place to live, but also a meeting place for residents and visitors.
The retirement home places great importance on meeting the needs and habits of its residents. To this end, the infrastructure and care processes are regularly analyzed and improved. Since its opening, the ward rooms at Hungacher had only undergone minor changes. It was therefore decided to renovate the medication cupboard, the flooring, and the existing workspaces in the ward rooms. The aim was to create more space for medication preparation and storage through a new room layout.
The ward rooms can now be divided with built-in folding walls, allowing nursing staff to work in a focused manner in one section of the room during the preparation process. The installed air conditioning ensures that the medications at the Hungacher retirement home are stored correctly and in accordance with the latest guidelines.
Wiegand AG supported the working group, the facility manager, and the construction manager in designing the ward rooms. Thanks to Wiegand AG’s in-depth professional consulting, the medication preparation process was analyzed, and with the folding wall, the error rate was significantly reduced. The renovation took place in two stages, which was no problem for Wiegand AG. This allowed the new medication cupboard to be used even before the complete renovation of the ward room. After completion, the cupboard was moved to its final position.
The Hungacher retirement home has been working with the Wiegand medication distribution system for 26 years and remains convinced of its functionality and quality. As part of this project, Wiegand AG also manufactured the medication trolleys for Hungacher. Thanks to the FlexLine system, the trolleys were designed and built specifically to meet the needs and workflows of the nursing staff.
Feedback from the Hungacher retirement home: “Thanks to the Wiegand medication distribution system, we have been able to work more efficiently and have a good overall overview of three wards. The coordination during the renovation went very well, and the schedule was adhered to. The relocation was carried out as planned, and we are very satisfied with the ward rooms today.”
