MediDispenser
Medication dispensers from Wiegand® ensure safe dispensing of medications as well as supporting patients/residents in taking their medications correctly. The medication dispensers are available in different sizes and with different sub-dividers and compartments. Sub-dividers can be used so that the larger medication dispensers have flexible compartment sizes. They also cater for patients who may need to take a medication up to 12-times daily. Almost every type of medication can be fit into the compartments, from ointments to injectables, to liquid medications in small cups.
Week systems
The week-based system optimises working processes in care-homes and on the wards. This system is particularly well-suited to the long-term care area as medication treatments are very regular. Medications are prepared by the ward, or by the pharmacy, for all patients for the entire week. The MediDispenser can then be stored using weekly trays within cupboards, or on ward trolleys, saving space whilst still making it possible to get an overview of the medications stored.
Distribution Trays
Distribution trays are used to prepare medications for a group of patients for the next medication rounds. MediDispensers and medication cups are fixed in place on the distrubution tray, ensuring safe but quick dispensing of medications, even when space is tight. And of course, the distribution tray fits perfectly into our trolleys and cupboards.
Labelling – For perfect organisation
It is essential that MediDispensers can be clearly assigned to each specific patient. That is why a key advantage of MediDispenser is that they can be labelled with dispensing times, or even the original doctor’s prescription. Wiegand® can provide pre-made Word forms for a broad range of labels which make it easier for staff to fill information out on the computer.
