The essentials at a glance
With the further development of the WIEGAND drug distribution system, we are introducing a new generation of high-quality tools to support the medication process. These improvements are closely tailored to the needs of care homes and pharmacies – combining enhanced usability with maximum compatibility.
Standardised. Optimised. Ready for the future.
The revised system is not a completely new development, but rather a targeted optimisation of the existing range. The aim was to improve the materials, stability, feel and usability – whilst ensuring the highest possible compatibility with existing WIEGAND solutions.
An overview of the key benefits:
- Higher material quality thanks to a new choice of materials
- Improved handling thanks to a new sliding lid with optimised sliding geometry
- Simplified product selection through standardisation
- New flexibility in combining MediDispensers, Inlay dishes and MediCups
- Extensive compatibility with existing trays, cabinets and FlexLine care trolleys
New product design for improved hygiene and better organisation
The design has been completely reworked:
- Rounded shapes without dirt traps
- Standardised compartment sizes (25 mm grid) for greater clarity during the preparation process
- New, improved plug-in rib for dividers
- Wider top edges and clear positioning lines for better visibility
The range of possible combinations has also been expanded:
Inlay dishes can be used flexibly in flat MediDispensers, whilst MediCups can even be used upright in deep MediDispensers.
High compatibility – with clear exceptions
The new MediDispensers will still fit in:
- WIEGAND distribution trays
- Week trays (in particular item no. 991; exceptions may apply)
- WIEGAND Cabinets and FlexLine trolleys
The following, however, are not compatible:
- Existing inlay dishes, dividers and sliding lids
- Existing WeekBoxes & weekly containers (new version to follow)
- Existing ColletBoxes and transport boxes
A phased transition from June 2026
To ensure an uninterrupted supply, the switchover takes place automatically:
- From June 2026: the new product ranges will be introduced gradually
- We are endeavouring to maintain current prices despite the challenging global and economic situation
- You will receive direct information regarding changes to item numbers, GTIN codes and packaging units
